Like Annie, FUN HOME is a multi-award-winning American musical based on a cartoon, which centres on a young girl growing up in a menacing world. There the similarities end for, unlike Annie with its heartwarming heroine and feelgood message, Fun Home is a dark, fractured, show in which a gay woman looks back at her childhood and her relationship with her troubled father.
