THE NEDERLANDS Dans Theater was born in 1959, helping to launch the modern dance movement in Europe, then flourishing in America. Most professional dancers in those days were classically trained and NDT was no exception. Happily, they kept the tradition of a basic ballet technique and for their short north London season this aspect of their performances was their making.
