
SPECTRES of Britain’s world class rocket programme still haunt the cliffs of the Isle of Wight – where the ruins of our pioneering space research station endure as a permanent reminder of what could have been. But as the EU prepares to kick UK scientists out of the Galileo satellite programme we look at how British technology led the world – and hope this time we DON’T give it away quite so readily.
