Absolute Hell theatre review: Ackland’s play just about survives but it is a close call
WHEN T S Eliot wrote “Humankind cannot bear very much reality”, he might have been referring to characters in Rodney Ackland’s extraordinary 1952 play. It is set in a decadent drinking club in London at the end of the Second World War.
