Laura Carney had just stepped out of an aircraft soaring at 20,000 feet, when the thought struck her: "I might die doing this." It wouldn't be the last time that fear ran through her head, either, as she learned to surf, sail solo, and swim a raging river - all in pursuit of her late father's dreams.
