The usual way to review books is that you contact the publisher or author's PR and they send you a press release and a free copy of the book. You then read the book and write an honest review. I asked Peter James's PR for a review copy of his latest Roy Grace but none was forthcoming so when I saw the book in the shops, I bought a copy.
