SCIENTISTS are baffled by a surprising anomaly relating to Saturn’s magnetic field which is challenging their understanding of how such processes work, an astrophysicist has admitted - while also acknowledging the vital role the so-called “jewel of the solar system” has played in shielding the Earth from catastrophic asteroid bombardments.
